Using the Internet for research

September 17th, 2007 by karenanderson and tagged , ,

Research Cartoon In this lesson you are going to explore the World Wide Web and bookmark sites that will be useful for finding information for your personal projects. One of the most useful sites that I’ve found is Wikipedia. I think it must be the world’s biggest encyclopedia by now. Why? Because it is written by thousands, if not millions of people.

Anyone can add or edit Wikipedia. It’s free and run by Wikimedia a non profitable organisation.

Become a Wikipedian.

Register an account, then take the editing tutorial

Have a look at the links I’ve added on the research category. One of these is a link to Youtube a great site for sharing videoclips.

Here is a clip of one of my favorite guitarists Tommy Emmanuel. If you click on the menu button when the clip is playing you will see some other clips that have something in common with the clip that is playing (related clips).

Add a Youtube clip to your blog post for this lesson.
